OK-I have a trap out to my aviairy and then the same trap to get back in. They can come and go as they please into the avairy. They have been in the new loft for about a week (weened) I just haven't opened up the doors yet to let them fly. They are traping just fine so you think they are old enough to let fly for the first time? Thanks Jack

Just wondering how old are your birds before you let them out for the first time? Mine are about 35 days old now and was just wondering when i should start thinking about letting them go? They seem to be traping just fine. Thanks Jack

This will be my first year with Pigeons.I am trying to get ready to race YB's. I have some breeders and am just about done with my YB loft. Just looking for any info-tips-advice or what ever you want to offer. How to train-feed-before race-after race, anything. Have been talking to people and reading all I can find. Just want to be ready when the birds are. Thanks and have a Happy New Year. Jack

Right now the sun is low in the sky and hi temps are still pretty cold. But yes when it warms up the glass is a concern. For now it seems to be OK. I was also a little concerned about hawks seeing them but so far so good. I am all ears if you see a mistake. Thanks Jack Merry Christmas

The little loft-I built it from scraps I had and maybe $30 in store bought parts. Yes, The roof is an old glass sliding door I had. The 6 birds were unexpected so had to put something together fast. Still a work in progress. Jack

Its kind of funny, I just don't know much about other parts of the world. I just don't understand the metric system-Even thou they have been teaching for at least 30 years. I just may be to old. You all do know your Pigeons. Thanks Jack

I was kinda thinking that but had no dummy eggs! I will pick up some for future use. jack

Didn't mean to! Hows your weather? Jack

Here is the story. I just got my first pair (free, Thanks Chou) They were paired up about 10 days or so before I got them. They dropped an egg the day before I got them. They dropped the 2nd egg at my house. So I only had 1 egg. They seemed to be sitting just fine. Checked the egg today (5 days) This is also my first time candleing eggs. Seemed to be clear and cold. They don't seem to be sitting on it at all times. I assume the egg is no good. My question is: should I get rid of the egg and get them started on another set ? Or should I let it run the cycle (18 days +/-) and then get rid of it? Thanks for any help. Jack

Just picked up my first Pigeons today. They were paired up and had there first egg before I got them. I hope they will take care of the second when it comes. I have a long ways to go but it is a start. Jack I am on the other side of the pond but you people have a great site.

Do not boil your Honey! Don't heat over 140 deg. as it will kill all the nutrents. I don't have Pigeons yet but do have over 500 hives of bees. Jack
