Hatchling (3/8)

  1. They are Roland Janssens, so there will be plenty of people who would class them as 'just breeders and not racers'. Best has been 2nd club, 5th fed, but early days as it was my first season racing this year.
  2. I like Silver Mealys and loose most of them......
  3. Cheers Kev Much appreciated!
  4. I'm in Bolton, Lancs. Yes, wondered off from here, never been raced.
  5. Lost this bird last week. Any news much appreciated. Please PM me. Cheers.
  6. Hi, Lost these 2 birds last 2 races of season Would like 'em home if they turn up anywhere...... Please PM me. Cheers
  7. Could choose from a few pairs to put the eggs under. My own fault. Was too late putting another bowl in the box, so she's laid round the loft. Can only be the one hen as all others have got young uns and eggs. Will try putting the 2 eggs under different pairs and see how they go then. Cheers for the advice everyone
  8. Anyone know if a pair will sit 3 eggs? And what about rearing 3 young uns? Cheers
  9. I agree with Les. The RSPB is a multi million £ business that lobbys the European Parliament at the highest levels. It is THAT parliament that dictates our laws re: BOP. Minority interests don't get a look-in. Any effective lobby from the pigeon fraternity would have to be backed by hard science, not anecdotal tales of lofts loosing birds to BOP's, or the thrush at the bottom of the garden being eaten by a Sparrowhawk. And lets face it, domestic cats eat more songbirds than BOPs do. If we want to secure the sport for the future we'd be better off putting more effort into attracting youngsters to the sport and making the sport more accessible to those who have had no previous contact with it. 10. Why penalise newbies? I've got no where near 200 posts and have bought birds from sellers and from auctions.
  11. Lot 5 - £100 UD Cheers Thanks Ian
  12. I don't doubt he has thunder but seems to me there has been a big change last couple of years. And I'm not believing anyones hype, I just looked at the birds currently in his loft - 50% RJ's blood at the most. Most folk do bring in new blood, I'm just surprised at the % of new blood he's brought in, which suggests to me his birds were not as good as other peoples. I like his birds though, I've got some here.
  13. I agree with Owen, but the fact that every current bird in RJ's loft has been outcrossed to others, or even bred by others, tells you something.....
  14. Aye, someone's already put your name forward....
  15. I'm a psychiatric nurse. Often chat to some of the older blokes we get on the ward about the pigeons they used to keep......not sure if they went mad after they gave up the doos, or whether the doos helped them keep a lid on it.
