I have a simple and cheap solution for all of you that wish to easily remove the Chlorine or Chloramine from your bird's water
I have been keeping both pigeons and aquariums for several years and there are a couple of De-Chlorinator products sold for aquariums that I use for my water bowls in my lofts. Where I live in California the chlorine level can be pretty high in our water, so definitely when I am using vitamins and medications I always dechlorinate my water.
Here is one of the products: http://www.amazon.com/JUNGLE-LABORATORIES-Instachlor-Liquid-oz/dp/B000255ZSK
It is called "Instachlor" and it is made by Jungle Laboratories. The dosage is 2 Drops Per Gallon. Stir or Agitate the water a little and it instantly removes the chlorine. It is very cheap and a bottle lasts forever. Besides Amazon, you can also find this product from several other online aquarium merchants.
The other product I use you can actually find at Wal-Mart in the Aquarium/Pet Section for about $2.00. It is called "Chlor Out" and made by a brand called Wardley. The dosage for this is 5 drops per gallon.
There are several other aquarium products that remove chlorine, but most of them have other additives (specifically for fish). The two products I listed above are very basic and do exaxtly what we need as far as pigeons (just remove the chlorine).
