Post script to previous post. Pigeon given antibiotic injection plus i have to give him baytril by mouth every 12 hours. Vet said he looks very strong and healthy and he should recover very quickly. His leg is still swollen but red and warm, so he should be ok. Thank you to all who responded, it is just a pity i couldn't read your replies. Please don't waste your time replying to this because i still can't access your replies.

Am off to the vet now, sorry i can't read any of your replies, i don't know why!! I will leave an update when i get back from the vet.

I found a lovely pigeon in my chicken shed on monday evening. It is injured with its leg pulled up. I have an appt with the vet this afternoon, so hopefully she can help him/her. My problem is i very stupidly cut the ring off because his little leg was so swollen and i was worried it would stop the blood flow. I only have part of the ring number which is WHU 2000 and part of a number ending i think is 918? The last 2 digits are definitely 18. Any suggestions to help me reunite it with its owner?
