i have three pairs of stock which i wish to loan out for a 12 month period. there are two pairs of luc van hoeckes (direct) and one pair of louella pouw bros (slateys) there are however some conditions to this offer - who ever has them are responsible for their safety and welfare, if any are lost for what ever reason - then they will have to pay £50 per pigeon. they also must pick up these pigeons and also return them to me in good condition. also i would like to have them within a 25 mile or so radius of caerphilly. the reason for this offer is that i am still overstocked at the moment, but at the same time i would like their y/b's to be tried, so it could be a case of me helping you, and you helping me. this offer is not open to members in the caerphilly area. p.m me if interested best regards steve would be prepared to let them go further to pigeon basics members , as long as transport were sorted both ways

the losses are all over the uk, my thoughts are heading towards young bird sickness being part of the reason. i believe that there are different levels of y.b.s. some being quite mild, so much so that the fancier does'nt even realise that his y/b's have it. i also believe that the recovery period is a lot longer than most fanciers think. i have heard fanciers saying that their birds were back in the basket after 4 = 7 days, and then they wonder why they have lost most of their team! i recently had y.b.s. with my later team of y/b's and went to a pigeon vet (graham smith from usk) the birds were then treated, but after 3 wks they are still not back to the condition that they were in prior to having it, though they are getting there.
