Chipping (2/8)

  1. We just cant put our finger on it this year just think the wind has been a major factor for us they either come from the north(strong westerly) or the South (strong Easterly) but not South East as they should,SAYING THAT D FLOWERS has had them most weeks only a few miles away at the bottom of our valley. Changing Feds is not the right way to go "in my opinion" you cannot control the weather, and simply we are the best Fed still by far in the Principality.
  2. Hi Paul our club has been so far behind in the Fed this year it`s unbelievable, we`re in the Hanbury Arms , and usually do ok no matter what the wind ha ha, yeh bit of a cold one thimorning maybe a 9 lib??
  3. Good luck to all who sent lets hope for another good race.
  4. i`m sending 12/17 left looking good in the moult (darkness) trained well this week good weather at last and a good forcast for the weekend hooray!!! I have been told Welsh SR are going for Saturday a Monday lib as there are gail force winds forcast on the channel?????? just found a site for Friday which says 31 mph. north easterly.
  5. Just had the message WNR FED birds up at 07.30 best of luck to all.
  6. Thats pure cruelty this guy has no rights in keeping pigeons or any kind of animal by the sounds of it,he needs to be put straight on a few things try to get the backing off the club because you dont need a nightmare neighbour it can make your racing life hell , best of luck. :-/
  7. We `re all up earley it`s that yellow shiney thing "wife just told me it`s the sun lol" they are probabley waiting till around 8 ish you can tell Autumn is here!!
  8. Hi strapper that just is`nt on especially if he knew you were raceing, i`d do my nut , go round there when we know the birds are up and ask nicely at first it may have been a mistake let`s hope so, best of luck.
  9. The best i know at the mo is Scamm on 11.43 then dad on 11.58 i`m 12.04 and our Si is 12.06 not long spoke to Pulm who was 12.30 and Bev behind him so weired and wonderful time but returnes seem really good. Just a bit of info Ja the s road has had a bad one from Gurnsey our Si has 6/20 up at 7.45
  10. Seems to have been another good race (even though i`m off the pace again) my returns are 8/10 and do expect the last ones all experiance ready for next year.
  11. I would like to congratulate young Dan Pipe of the Strickland& g/son partnership you really was Dan The Man taking the first six positions in the Hanbury Arms club. All six arrived together and clocked at 10.54 flying just under 160 miles. Suberb race, exellent returns (just wish mine was a little faster lol) well done to all concerned! ;D
  12. Welsh North Road Fed up at 7.30 Maidstone ssw wind good luck to everyone .
  13. Thanks for the replies lads just needed to let off a little steam, unortunatley we have up to 4 pairs of falcons in a 10 mile radius and after i posted this thread today i watched a male sparrowhawk take another songbird out of my livingroom window , if jo public still believe these BOP are still rare/endangered then spend a day in my garden they would be amazed.
  14. I think the wind is a major factor if it stays like this, i see the best day is Saturday for the weather this weekend so it looks to be the right day afterall, i wonder if these Sunday Libs will bring it forward incase of a holdover????
  15. This year has been the worst ever for falcon and hawk attacks, i HAD a smashing team of healthy darkness yb 50 in number which was a first for me (usually 30-35 is my limit) so you could guess how happy i was for the fotrthcoming yb season. Then the local attacks started as the norm i`m used to this as we have a nesting pair only 1/2 mile from my location!!!!! This was backed up by nearly every training toss birds split to pieces from 10-30 mile so where do you go from there??? The racing has been difficult to say the least for ALL Feds this yb season but i was left with 20 before yesterdays training all raced to Epsom so far with the Welsh North Road Fed (i have dropped 10 racing). The final outcome of yesterdays training was 1 down again, this story ends with me on the way home from work thismorning *i found myown pigeon dead* on my local village pavement with tallon hole to it`s back around 1/4 mile from home. After 25 years at this game i`m left wondering is it all worth the love time and money i dedicate to my love of racing pigeons? :'(
