  1. Welldone for trying to save the bird, you did fine giving it some water and a little food but it must of been internaly injurred. did you manage to open the wings out and see if it was owner stamped at all.
  2. Now Collected Thanks for everyones help
  3. Thanks Albear, its been fun and interesting really to learn a little more about these birds normaly the only contact I have had with Pigeons are the wild sort who chase you for your Gregs Pasty crumbs ;D Allowed it to have a bath today didnt need much encouragement to get in the water had a real good splash about, never really noticed how clean these birds like to keep themselfs.
  4. Spoke to the club chairman today, says the bird was his and had a few young off it before he gave it a mate who wanted a few birds, says he thinks its escaped but cant get hold of the guy who owned it at the moment, anyway he's picking it up Saturday morning. I asked has it not got lost Mid race then as its got a black band on it aswell said didnt think so that was probs just a marker onit, was hoping to know a little more about it but well there you go.
  5. Rpra just have the same number that I got off there ring list page, they couldnt get him on the phone so have sent a letter. NW115 WHITWORTH H S Mr T Chapman, 3 Buxton Street, Whitworth, Rochdale, Lancs OL12 8NB. Tel: 01706 852187 Anyway will give it a few more days its got its own room anyway ;D have had it out of the basket today for a hr , so it could strecth its wings and have a little fly about the room, at the moment its just eating a general wild bird seed, should i go get it somthing else higher quality and how about grit or somthing :-/ I have found a little club in my town http://www.pigeonsglossop.co.uk/ so might send them a email or call them in next few days if still no contact from Mr Chapman. Thanks for your help everyone
  6. Yeah spoke to the RPRA today they say they have sent a letter to the owner, I tried to call again but still just voicemail, not sure how long to keep hold of the bird for maybe the guy isnt there anymore, its only 20ish away miles from where its registred (whitworth in Rochdale) and has got lost mid race as it has a black band on the other leg. Tempted to go up on a hill in the direction of rochdale and just set it free, isnt the owner likely to just kill it anyway if I gave it him back.
  7. No contact made yet, found a number on the on Rpra ring list called but just voice mail, left one yesturday, had nothing back direct from the Rpra reporting site yet though If nobody claims him/her anyone fancy giving it a home?, it seems a nice bird, shame to just let it go wild.
  8. This bird flew into my bedroom on Weds been feeding and watering it but doesnt seem to want to move on its been coming back eachday ether sitting on the roof or coming in through the window, it seems healthy enough so today i have caught it and put it in a pet carrier, cant see a phone number on the wings. I am not a keeper and will report it via the http://www.rpra.org but if the owner is on here its waiting for you
