  1. Nothing at all on t'other leg Pete. Still haven't been able to entice him/her down from the roof! I do have shed space waiting though, so no problem with regard to keeping it safe.
  2. OK, I'll post the number as soon as (or 'if'!) I manage to see it (still on the neighbour's bungalow roof at the moment!) At least there's not far to travel if it is one of your peter.j
  3. Dammn ... just missed it with the towel! Oh well, at least I know that it can fly as far as the neighbour's bungalow roof (albeit reluctantly, and after much scuttling!) As it has been around for a couple of days, I imagine it will be back for more seed shortly, so I'll get a box in readiness! No, it isn't with any other birds Pete. (In fact, I'm a tad worried because the local magpie hoodlum is hanging around ... do they attack weary pigeons?) Many thanks for the advice folks. ZED
  4. Hello All ~ I know nothing at all about racing pigeons ... I'm just hoping that someone on the forum can advise what I ought to do! Over the past couple of days a racing pigeon (orange ID band) has visited my garden to feed (I put seed out for woodpigeons & collared doves). I'm in Southport, Merseyside. The bird looks well enough, but I am concerned as at the moment it has settled to sleep on the ground. I approached it to try and read the I.D number, but it scuttled away ... so another concern is that it's not flying (or reluctant to fly). At the moment I'm just leaving well alone as I don't want to panic it by attempting to get close again ... It has ample food and water and there are plenty of shrubs/trees should it wish to roost. What's the best course of action? Here's a photo: Bestest, ZED
