to be honest i dont think i would have started up again if it wernt for this site & all you experienced fanciers! its your fault im on it every time im not at work!(lol) you try & explain that to my missis & kids saying dads on the pc again! thanks webmaster & everyone! snowy & westy

hi, me & my son westy are going to contact channel 4 & explain how racing pigeons helped us win the war etc with different bits of information from various websites & how the sport is declining & how helpfull most pigeon fanciers are, & try & get them to put a loft up on the next BIG BROTHER programme as they are in for 13 weeks or so & get a task to get the young birds to home, or put the birds in before the programme starts so they are already homed. just an idea? instead of them keeping chickens, i think this kind of viewing would have a big effect on the public & might get a lot of new fanciers into the sport, especially if there was a few pieds & pretty coloured ones. oh well im going to try anyway & volenteer to help them if they need help setting it up & im sure i would have a bit of help off you fanciers out there.? keep you all posted. hi, take shadows advice & when you let them out, make sure the other one is out too & let them out as late as possible just b4 it gets dark, half 7- 8 0 clock just throw a few grains on the floor outside & let them walk about then call them in by throwing seed inside the loft untill they go in, do this for a week or so & every time they will venture further, roof , fly round the house then just call them in, but i must stress, they must be hungry! as i lost a west hen once, (my fault, didnt keep her hungry enough) hope this helps.

yes, i take garlic capsules myself, ive hardly ever got a cold, plus my doctor has advised me too as i have a heart condition (hereditry). but didnt think for pigeons" saying that, i was told to put some in my pond, keeps the nasty bacteria out & keeps the fish healthy, so must be good for everything, thanks anyway

yes thanks will do. you dont get many specialist shops now that sell pigeon supplies, like years ago, there was a shop called the corn bin that just sold pigeon stuff, oh well the good old days(lol) cheers anyway.

apart from the normal food & grit/minerals, is there any tonic/vitamins that you are supposed to give them? as i remember yrs ago i used to give a drop or 2 of something in their water? thanks

my westie hen flew off too, but got a cross i think out the bargain pages £5.00, shes got 2 different coloured eyes, but they are on eggs at the moment. & hes on the eggs more than her.
