Spot on Wiley, most of them i understand, there are some of them that must be Belgium because they would mean nothing in Afrikaans. very handy list to have though
-
Birds look well, i love the check wf hen in picture 14
-
there you go IB, just to show how close the two languages are, in Afrikaans "moeder" is mother and Vader is father. "Die Duif" is The Pigeon. there you go, a daily class in the Afrikaans language
-
You could be right Wiley. its just that Dutch is very simelar to Afrikaans except the dutch put the letters "EN" onto the end of most of their words. a Pigeon in Afrikaans is a Duif which is why i thought thats what it was. i am able to communicate fluently with the people in NL because of my afrikaans backround but like i say i could be wrong about that one
-
Wiley, spot on with your translations , only i was under the impression that Duiven means Pigeon rather than Hen.

Hi Marianne, looking at your photo's, is that a balcony which you can see through the window on the first photo? if so, why not look at having something wall mounted outside?
-
Why not, if he prepares for it properly and is fit and healthy, i reckon he could have a great chance :emoticon-0140-rofl:
-
the comment as i read it was that the bird beating 5000 birds was no better than one beating 300? no mention of wind or loft location. anyway, not going to fall out over this, just i know which one i would rather spend my money on
-
i couldnt disagree with this more :emoticon-0138-thinking: if you take a combine race, a pigeon that wins his club and fed lets say 600 birds, could end up 50th combine 28000 birds. Sorry, not as good as the combine winner IMO
-
I race in Horden homing society (average 400 - 500 birds pw South East Durham fed (average between 2500 - 3000 birds pw Up North Combine (could be anything up to 30 000 birds in the combine races. :egyptian: :egyptian:

Craig05 replied to sapper756's topic in Notice Board
Had a yearling liberated from Clarmont last year and reported to me in Poland. the guy was very keen to keep the bird and as i wasnt going that way, i parted with the bird and let him have her  -

Spot on Black WF! at long last we agree on something :P
-
I think Fabio is doing the right thing by giving the youngsters a chance! its not nice to lose, but the experience is priceless ;) ;)
-
Black WF, if you come into this country legitimitly that figure is not far off what is required. 10 years ago it cost me and my family huge amounts of money to come over here, we had to have 30k in the bank and that was on an ancestial visa, (my fathers from here) and i came over as a profesional rugby player to play and coach. i agree with you whole heartedly, you put so much in, but too many scroungers on benifits means that the decent folk that are prepared to work and contribute get very little back, as most of their money goes to feeding and housing the scroungers. i think we are in agreement on this one?

???? thats rich! are you for real pal. times have changed, can you imagine!!!!!

IB, like i said, it is the people who are able to work and choose not to that the govenment are targeting. people with genuine disabilities in my opinion are more than entitled to benefits. i cant comment on benefits in the UK as i have never been on them, but have had a neighbour on mobility benefits and i tell you what, the car that was parked on the drive and renewed every couple of years did seem the "bees knees" to me. unemployment is at an all time low at the moment and has been for the last few years, but please, i hear people say that there are no jobs out there... what alot of rubbish, people in the bricklaying trade for example are struggling to find work laying bricks at the moment because the building trade has gone quiet, so sign on, feel sorry for themself and complain about no jobs out there and sit at home waiting for something to fall out of the sky while claiming unemployment benefits. why not go and stack shelves in one of the major supermarkets on a night shift, plenty of opportunity there as i have seen the ads while working in these stores. there is work out there, it just depends on how hard you are prepared to look and sometimes swallow a bit of pride and earn a living.
