Squeaker

Squeaker (4/8)

  1. Unfortunately for some of us our birds are more interested in procreating in the spring then loft flying or we are unable to have them out much, and starting with short tosses and building their fitness is a must if we are to race the whole series. It can be done without hurting them.
  2. Maybe it wasn't just the bird had a bit of bad luck.................
  3. Sounds like a good time to buy BP stock.
  4. Did you mean "that's your Canadian's for you" cause thats what it sounded like to me.
  5. Central Washington State, club has 10 members, combine of 30. The topography here is high desert with mountain ranges to navigate.
  6. I'm fairly new, but my method was to start road training after the birds have been loft flying for 45 min. or more twice a day. I use sun up and 2 hrs prior to sunset for my loft flying. I like to loft fly them in the morning, call them in with a few grains of feed, then basket them for a toss of 5 mi. if they come home with no problems I take them 10 mi. the next day, 20 mi. two or three times, 30 mi. same, at this point no loft flying first. 50 mi. 3 times, and 70 mi. a couple of times. I generally toss in groups of 7-10 birds with a couple single tosses. I started with 25 youngsters and lost none prior to the first race.
  7. Yeah, I think you forgot to tell them about the rocket in the bung.
  8. Good luck with future endeavors and thanks for all you've done for pigeon fanciers!
  9. One problem is we don't know how well the bird flew the series. I'd agree with you if a bird got sick more then once. Quarintine again and give a chance to recover without meds.
  10. If by seriously injured you mean he was treated and released from the hospital in good condition you are right.
  11. Owen, a bird that gets sick more then once is one to get rid of, any bird can contract an illness, champs and culls alike. A lost bird is often a better bird for it.
  12. What's your point? Are you asking people to tell you if they'd be willing to cheat for a win? Neglect family and work to win? I like racing, but not that much.
  13. Wine and chocolates. Try leaving him with the hens instead of seperating him with the cocks.
  14. A nice dry loft.
