  14. As breeder of Exhibition fantails, I can assure you that the bird is not suffering from any health problems. The answer is as simple as Bruno describes it. If you just break away a small amount of the sheath at a time, you can feel the piping drying up. The feather will eventually look normal. Pigeons normally moult 2 tail feathers at a time but because fantails have a lot more tail feathers, they tend to moult them in batch of about 6.Just rub the quill with your finger and thumb once a day, but only about ½ inch each time, allow them to have plenty of baths and they will moult out perfect.

  18. A few weeks ago I attended a young bird pigeon show.Since then a couple of the birds have gone blind in both eyes.I have spoken to a couple of fanciers who also exhibited at the show and they have also lost birds due to eye blindness. The birds appeared OK on return from the show, then after about a week the eye pupils started to loss colour until the eye was completely clear. As anyone heard of anything like this before.

    Amtrak

I use Amtrak quite regularly and I have never had a problem till recently, my local branch now has a new manager and driver. On 3 occasions now I have phoned them the day before and asked them to collect some birds and they have not turned up. When you ring them they simply apologise and promise to come the next day. You then have to phone the fancier up and explain to him that Amtrak have let me down again. If I was running a business like them I am afraid I would not survive long, unfortunately when you have no competition you must just put up with them. The BHW will no longer print complaints about Amtrak’s now, just incase they tell us to get lost.
  22. The following bird dropped in last night. NEHU 05 TD 4241 Could someone fix me up with a contact number. Thanks
