  1. I was 1,3,5 and 10thclub at the weekend. 3, 6, 9th derby with about 2000 pigeons sent. I sent 22 and had 20 in the clock within 15 mins from a 250 mile race. Hopefully with a bit of luck what I try this week works for me (as it's the start of the channel races). I'm gonna leave the corn in on Wednsday for about half an hour and on Thursday feed them at 8.00 am and leave it into midday. If it doesn't work I haven't got a clue were I'm going wrong because I know my pigeons are good enough to do it and they are in super order.
  2. I'm gonna try giving them, basically whatever they want on Wednsday night for about half an hour, then what ever they want on Thursday morning about 8 and leave it into 12. Please tell me if I'm going totally wrong like lol. It's just i know my birds can compete even on Channel races, it's just it's basically down to the feeding and Morivation or timing of feeding that's stopping them.
  3. I usually feed the birds at 8,00 am on the Thursday (day of Basketing) and leave it in to midday. Does anyone feed them in the evening of basketing day. Also in terms of Widowhood hens should I show them there cocks before the race or just the bowl. Thanks for all the comments thus far lads
  4. Also I feed my pigeons on the day of the race at about 8 in the morning and leave the corn in until about 12 o clock. Also I'm racing Widowhood hens as well, should I just show them their bowls as well before the race and not thier cocks or should show them thier cocks?
  5. I race in ulster Fed Northern Ireland. Our Inland races our Kildare x 2 at 105 miles Thurles x 2 at 152 miles Fermoy at 190 miles Skibberean at 250 miles Those are inland and we compete extremely well in all those races. Channel races are Talbenny 199 mile Bude 267 mile Sennon cove 314 mile France 400 mile plus Also my breed of pigeons are basically Busschart/Van Reet and van de Rhees. But we have bought in various other strains to try and improve but still no difference. What time does people feed there's at? Thanks
  6. Just wanted to say I'm new to this thread so a big hello to everyone. Just wanted to ask everyone for a bit of help and advice. Regarding Channel racing. Inland our pigeons race quite exceptional for us, basically every single inland race we compete and take multiple Fed and club prizes inside the top 10 of Both (over 3,000 in fed) never being far away from the winners and our pigeons are tumbling in. But when it comes to the channel we our basically hours behind. For me it has to be down to the Thursday basketing for a Saturday race, we just can't get to the bottom of what time and how much to feed them on a Thursday and how to motivate them. Basically what we do is we feed them the exact same and motivate them the exact same way we would as an inland race, but nothing works. For a channel race we would give them a Spoon of corn in the morning and 2 spoons at night from Sunday right through to Wednsday, then on the Thursday we feed them what they want from 8.00am through to Midday and take the Corn out, then at Hampering time (6.00pm) we would show the cocks there bowls and give them there hens. But it is blatantly not working. I must be feeding them wrong, either I am giving them too much on a Thursday or at the wrong time, not feeding them much on a Wednsday or motivating them wrong. Any advice and help I will be greatful. Thankyoi
