  1. Hi, I am just starting up pigeon racing again and I am looking to invest in the nessecary equipment for my loft etc. Can anyone please give me a rough idea of how much the TS systems cost? I have seen the Unikon working and that looks great. I have been on the manufacturers websites but for some strange reason they don't seem to have any prices on. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  2. Thanks again mate. Some nice looking lofts / pigeons in them photos!
  3. Brilliant! Thanks mate
  4. Hi, Fellow newcomer here and so far everyone has been friendly and VERY helpful. Great forum for information and advice on all things pigeons!
  5. Thank you again for your advise!! I hope to have my loft up within the next 2/3 weeks Can't wait!! Not going to get any pigeons until the loft is fully fixed up and operational with all the nessecary supplies. Do you guys have any recommended suppliers? I was looking at Petron Lofts and they seem to be cheap enough. Any others?
  6. thanks mate! Appreciate the offer.
  7. Nice advice mate!! As I said earlier I'm not looking to rush into it. I would much rather get it all right before I start breeding or racing etc.
  8. Thanks for the replies guys Appreciate all your advice. I think I will have to get the next size up. The new loft will be 12x8ft with a 2ft corridor. So the internal size will be 10 x 8. My idea was to have 3 sections at the following: Section 1 (largest) - 10 x 4ft Section 2 & 3 - 5 x 4ft Still too small? I am only starting with 3 pairs of birds and then breeding my first proper young birds to race with. I'm not eager to get racing I'm more interested in getting it right. There is a couple of lofts which I am planning to visit so hope to pick up more ideas advice from them. I understand the points regarding vermin and ventilation and will make sure I have plenty of ventilation and plenty of vermin prevention.
  9. Thanks for your reply. I'm in Leeds. I have a friend who has invited me round to his loft to have a look and he has kindly offered to help me where he can. My main question was do you guys think this loft would be suitable or should I look at something else? Sorry for sounding dumb but I really want to get it right.
  10. Hi everyone! New to the forum and found it really interesting and helpful. I used to keep and race pigeons when I was younger. I'm 30 now and not had pigeons for near on 15 years. I hated my mum for making me get rid when we moved Anyways I'm starting up again now. Ironically, in my mums back yard. Weird I know. I'm looking for advice on my loft please: This is the shed "loft" I'm looking at (10x8ft). I will (I say i will do but of course i mean my dad) do the alterations to make the necessary windows / traps / bobs. http://www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Wooden-Sheds/The-BillyOh-5000-Range#technical-specifications Do you guys reckon its any good or would you recommend a different type? I'm no good with my hands so couldn't make one from scratch. My plan is to have a 2ft x 8ft corridor at the front with 3 sections inside. Any ideas or advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you for looking and hope to make some new friends on here
