  1. I have informed the relevant Royal Society and Associations but they also have no records for this ring. However I have it confirmed now from a professional Dove Release company that it is a young male (Rock) not a Logan as we first thought. Consequently it has been offered a good home in the midlands if I am able to catch and transport it.
  2. The information on the Ring is "DPL [12] 011" see photos attached 011 out of sight.
  3. It could be a white fantail as I have compared my pictures of Audrey Hepburn, as I have named her, with those of a fantail on the internet. I have never seen her fantails up on display, but the very large circular eyes are the same and a ruff around the neck that she can puff out and display beautifully. She has only one ring, whereas I think a racer would have two. If the ring is a stock ring, will it give the loft number she is registered?. If she is not a racer then she could be a local loft bird. When she first arrived she eat little and left at 6am to go foraging for food. I watched her feeding on the ground of the sports field on grass meadow weeds and seeds alongside a wild grey pigeon. She would return to roost about 1915hours. This got earlier and earlier and she eat more and drank all the water I put out for her. She left one day, I thought she had flown home, but when she did return she looked hungry and has been getting through 2 to 3 jam jar lids of dried rice daily. She has given up foraging now and seems happy spending many day light hour on her allotted window sill and flights to roof ridge tops. Is this behaviour normal or could she be ill? Is rice enough after more than 2 weeks? should I get some better food in for her? Another picture of Audrey Hepburn attached showing her tail:
  4. From a member of public living in Swindon, uk and recent member to Pigeon Basics Forum: I have been adopted by a pure white pigeon with one ring only. It looks like a racing pigeon. The Bird returns each evening to roost on an outside window sill 3 floors up on a block of flats. The spot is generally sheltered from prevailing winds, the bird has been with me now for over 2 weeks. I have been providing water and dried rice. Any members in Swindon area please contact me through this forum to give me advise as the bird is not leaving and I do not have sufficient knowledge or facilities to care properly for such a beautiful, specialist bird.
