Barry I'm in Ireland, a place called Dunsany, Co Meath, about 15 miles NNW of Dublin. The bird (as you say a B.Bar cock) was very tame, my wife had spotted it on the road (we live on a narrow country road) and I almost walked it into a crate at about 7pm last night having used some food but it slipped by me when I tried to close it in and went onto my neighbours roof. It was gone from there half an hour later and I didn't see him again. When I got home from work tonight my wife told me the neighbour had told her that one of my birds was dead on the road and I went out and found it. He still had his ETS ring on and there was an old rubber over the life ring. Sorry I didn't manage to catch him last night for you. What part of Scotland do you live in, the east in the wind must have carried him over. Yours in sport Des Murray Boyne Valley RPC
