  1. Hi, yes I've looked under both wings (held it upside down like a chicken! lol) and there's nothing. I agree that it must be somebodies pet. When it first arrived, it flew into our garage, sat on the bonnet of the car and allowed my husband to pick it up. I'm not aware of anyone keeping pigeons/doves locally - I live in a quite large housing estate and the only birds we normally see are seagulls and feral pigeons. Thanks for the replies so far.
  2. Hi, I'm hoping somebody here can help me. We have had a juvenile fancy white pigeon in our garden since Saturday. It has no rings or markings, but is hand tame. I have tried ringing several organisations and everybody is telling me to leave it alone and it will go home. I don't think it's a homing bird, and I'm concerned that it's going to starve to death because I haven't seen it foraging for food. We keep chickens in our garden and I think that may be one of the reasons why it has stayed (food source?). We have had some sharp showers today and the bird has stayed out in the rain, rather than looking for cover which makes me think that it may be a loft pigeon. I doubt that I will ever find the owner, but I can't sit back and watch it slowly die through lack of food/shelter. I would really like to find a pigeon keeper in the Plymouth area who would be willing to take the bird and I wonder if any of you nice people may know of such a person. Hopefully I can post a picture, so you can see the bird. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
