Guys, It took me time to find this thread!! I'm the lady you have helped Thank you all so much for your contact, offers to help and reassurance - I have tried to send emails to all concerned, but wanted to post here to make sure I didn't miss anyone out! I must admit I was so worried when he first dropped into the garden, as we have no experience with domesticated birds, so hence proceeded to do a massive internet search/phoning our vet and trying the union to no avail, but then thank goodness finally finding this wonderful site. I think he enjoyed his 4 day stay, basking in the sun watching the many varieties of wild birds flying in and out of our garden to feed at their table, and having his very own private bowl of food and water that I had to serve to him several times a day and he would waddle over to me (strange he only would eat from them on the grass - but I couldn't leave them there, as my dog would have eaten it all, so had to keep putting on a separate table - but he would not go on the table - I couldn't understand why!!??)!! Do you think I should try emailing the NWHU to let them know the little one was here and to respectfully ask if they could let me know if he ever returns? Or would I be wasting my time? We can only hope the little fella stays safe - we miss him, he was a little beauty.
