roland i know where your coming from ,but the fate of the bird is left with the finder ,if they cannot afford to send for it then what ,i have disposed of many bird no longer wanted or willing to send for ,your still inconvienced if you have to keep reporting it through the region ,if your not prepared to cull it .i recently released a pigeon i reported not two miles from the persons loft after having it two weeks returning it back to good health after the bird dropped in knackered ,after driving seventy miles to get it home ,even phoned the bloke to say where and time i let it go ,he didnt even have the decency to telephone me back and say thanks .but he told me he couldnt afford to send for the bird by amtrax .

this seems all to often people not reporting lost birds be it old or young birds ,the problem is when you report the bird thats when it starts, there always off combine winners fed winners but you can keep it or kill it .but they are not sending for it ,they dont want it back ,so it down to you to dispose of the bird . you can telephone fanciers leave messages on answer phones ,then wait weeks for a call from the owner who always has just come back off holiday ,who has been away for weeks sunning themselfs in the sun in some remote part of the world.only to be told could you throw it up or cull it mate. im sure parts of this is why fanciers seem reluctant to report stray pigeons old or young , i hate it when i get a pigeon flown out enter my lofts , i always give the bird the best attention i can to get the bird right it can take two three weeks and there looking beautiful again ,only for the owner to say would i dispose of the bird ,which could take that time to respond to several left calls ,now i look for the area the bird as come from if its stamped and i help the bird on its way home ,it saves my time waiting for some irresponsible fancier not returning my calls with some bloody excuse .but its not often you get a bird thats stamped but they always have a fresh rubber on .

  12. frank1 now this might sound crazy ,but i would ask a genuine fancier if he could loan you some birds to improve your team ,dont always look at his best birds for success ,most fanciers every year cull young birds at end of the season ,look at it this way if they where good enough for his young bird team ,they could be good enough to breed from .im sure any genuine fancier with good birds would do this and wouldnt be thinking of how much he could charge you .ask him how he would pair them dont ask for a pedigree .ask as much advise as possible from him .tell him you want to make a family out of his birds to be as good as his .if possible ask to swap six youngsters with him . entire clearance sales many fools can be parted with monies for something that might be not what they seem to be .ive seen plenty of these sales where the super breeders go for thousands and always seem to be purchased by friends of the seller ..how many times have fanciers cleared out to restart after three years ,but in the three years you dont see much success with the birds sold in the clearance sale . yes a genuine fancier packing up could bring in the jewels at a clearance sale ,but be careful as many of these so called sales people are selling off cracking bits of paper for big monies and laughting all the way to the bank ,whilst the buyers dreams of success go in the bin .and its never the expensive birds fault it never turned out winners out you purchased.
