  17. usualy about 12 , it's my 1st yb season this year since i moved , i should have 14 to 16 pair to race next season all be yearlings , so most of these will go to 420 miles and odd one or two fancied birds will go to 512 miles

  20. i fly widowhood normaly , but im going to try the hens next season may go tits up but thats what my plans are , i have won up to 512 miles on widowhood , all i do is let the cock have his hen 36hrs before basketing and some nesting material and away he goes
  21. if you feed once a day the pigeons metabolism will slow down , it think that its starving then the bird stores energy as fat so in answer to that question i'd say no
  22. Old red eyes is back ~ Beautiful South
  23. I think your thread should come up with some good questions and will be helpfull to new comers to the sport , after all the amout of different preperations and so called remidies it's a mine field of different products , some work some dont , but im sure alot of money is waisted on most things that simply do dont anything. I suppose some fanciers are lucky how they get there start and a good mentor who can save the new comers from the many pitfalls that can happen is a good thing , i was luck enough to have this and was shown the route to a good avian vet , which is half the battle, unhealthy birds cant be made fit via training and a over treated bird will not make a loft full of healthy ones , its all about ballance and to treat when not nessersary when a bird is not ailing is a waiste of money surely a once a month test is cheaper than treating for several things when you cant be sure your treating for the right thing in the first place. However canker is better controled once a month , rather than treated for because by the time its shows its usualy too late.
  24. have to agree they dont wander too far from loft when out they spend more time walking than flying , probably been in someones loft and chucked up as probably seen your fancy birds when they have past
  25. the back of my hand ( i've got your number ) ~ The Jags
