Do any of you use mobile lofts? If you do can you post a picture. I want to build a mobile loft for some non-competitive pigeons to take to school ect.
The birds do fine in the summer, it gets up to 110-115f here but the humidity is about 11%. The evenings are in the low 70s. As far as the satellite dish, I believe in providing my birds with only the finest navigational equipment available! LoL ;D
I keep Birmingham Rollers, English Trumpeters and White Homers. At this point I don't race anyone but I really want to get some racing pigeons and get into racing.
Here are pictures of my new lofts. I bult them for about $180 U.S. including the V-perches and they work great for my Southern California location. I live in the high desert and we get strong winds the finished loft has been through a few good wind and rainstorm with no problems. I have about 40 perches inside and I'll be adding breeding boxes on the back walls. I'm also adding vents along the bottom for increased ventalation. The tarps on the sides come down tight for bad weather and wind.[/img]
How difficult is it to breed Trumpeters? Are there any big differences than with other pigeons? Do nest boxes have to be on the floor or very low?
Thanks,
Ed.
