Pompey,
Other systems are approved in Scotland. I 2nd that, we need a comparison table of all the systems.
I have looked at all the systems to date, and for me UNIKON is the only one that really stands out from the crowd. I can’t be doing with a fiddly connector every time I need to attach the clock to the pads. That’s got to spell trouble, either money or lost races. UNIKON’s pocket clock is the only one I know with no connectors – this has to be more reliable in the long run. Saving money and the race!
As for compatibility with Univers 1.7, UNIKONs universal club system is far simpler to use that the Bricon club master (So this puts to bed any idea that the BE was was better for the UK), certainly UNIKONs answer will make clock setters lives easy, regardless of the ETS Clock. I was told that UNIKON developed this for the UK flyer (Not sure what they are really saying by keeping it simple!) Nevertheless, its free should only one member in a club start with UNIKON, they also include a free radio clock.
I was also looking into the ring side of things to try and learn more.
