Its usually around now that moths start to appear. Does anyone have any sugestions to get rid or prevent them. Cheers
-
Yeh they dont summersault as much as rollers but they do perform well, and are much nicer to look at in the loft I think
-
The second picture look likes its being crossed like a english trumpeter. Is it bigger than the rest john23.
-
Do you mean in looks or performance
-
Yeh they were never really breed for showing so they never put on size and are probally one of the best tumblers your likely to get.

Pure White German Beauty Homers

Mate I stepped out of this argument ages ago and I dont agree with most of the things irishfancier is saying but when you say you paid £150 EACH for 4 indians, that is ridiculous. That was someone taking advantage, there are pairs of indians sold at show auctions for as little as 2/3/4 euro, because they are very common now. If you are getting them again pm me and I will put you onto someone with them. -

He means they look nice john, he might not mean there good show birds. Calm down man!?! -
There just ordinary flying tumblers i'd say although the one in pic 2 is different to the rest so its a cross breed most likely

If you look I wasn't the first person to comment on the price. As for I have no right to comment its a forum and thats the idea of a forum for everyone to give there opinion, which is all I am giving. If your happy with the price thats perfect, well done and good luck with them. -

The going price is irrelevent to me, in my opinion its to dear. Its a hobby I dont see the point in trying to make money. I do see the point in trying to get more people into fancy pigeons and at that price I cant see many wanting to. -

Well thats up to him but id say £45 would put of a lot of people. I know wests of good quality are sold for £10/15 a pair and thats why theres a big interest in them, as a young fancier myself I know I couldn't afford £45 and if I could I would expect them to be good show birds. -

Really bad watery droppings
Clarkey1990 replied to Bobthegas's topic in Help - What's wrong with my bird?
This has wiped out everyone in my area. I keep fancys and I think I had a yb with it. I was told from all the fanciers who cured theres to, 1. Isolate the bad ones 2. Threat with eqvalan ivermectin paste for one day. 3. By a bottle of red coloured CYATON from your chemist and put two tablespoons to two litres for 1 week. Also keep plenty of clay pot around. And most importinly hope for the best, I got lucky. -
Yes it does

The cock or hen
-
That sounds like a split eye then. There could be a more technical name for split eye but its basically like you described. Its rugby ball shaped. Do you keep fancys as it happens quite a lot with them. I get one every so often also. Its not because of injury and i dont think its genetic as a split eye never breed a split eye for me.
-
Yeh its called an odd eye or bull eye. Its a major fault so the pigeon will most likely be disqualified. It is usually genetic but you can get them on the off chance from two birds with clear eyes.

Ian, Asked one of the local lads about the food for flying tumblers as he flys irsh ft's. He said anyone he asked and he himself uses 3 parts peas 2 parts wheat 1 part maize Increase quantity in the winter and also increase the amount of peas.
-
Ha yeh gave them a right talk
-
Irish flying tumblers are the, imo, the best tumblers around at the moment.
-
No forget about trying to get it back up, in fact it shouldn't of being able to move back down. U say the hen has faults so if you feel the ring is damaging the pigeon cut your loses and cut the ring. It will obviously mean you cant show her but if you reckon the cock is a good bird concentrate on him for showing

Black hen Dun hen Black cock(the auction one) Cream cock a few months ago, very young in it.
