gday
As a beginner I am learning a lot from your replies...thanks heaps.
I have started feeding my birds only in the evening and I have my birds bursting to get through the yankee trap and into the loft. having experienced problems getting the birds in previously I am thinking about feeding them only in the afternoon permantly. Providing they get sufficient feed( ie 30 - 40 g a day) is there any problem with feeding them once a day instead of the more traditional two times. I would really appreciate your replies and suggestions
Cheers
Ted
gday
thanks to all those who have replied to my questions...I'm getting a lot out of your suggestions. normally I have my birds out twice a day for around 45 min but with work and shortening days( we are heading into autumn down here) will one flight a day be enough to maintain fitness for the winter races?
cheers

hello all
being a novice at this game I would like to know how most breeders get rid of their unwanted stock... how do you actually kill the bird
thanks

hello
I live on the north west coast of tasmania(Aus) and have been breeding pigeons for three seasons. I borrowed several breeders and have now 5o home bred birds. The racing season here starts in may so I am anxious to see how they go. We have a problem here with hawks and I have already lost 3 birds while training. Over half of my birds are predominantly white and that might not be a good thing avoiding being hit. I would be interested to know how far pigeons should be trained from for races 200 plus KM...most of the races are across bass Strait from Victoria.
cheers

Hello all,
My name is Ted. I'm about to start racing in Tasmania, Australia, after breeding for the last two years. I've started training my birds and have already lost 6. Is this normal?
Looking forward to any advice from experienced fliers!
