Old Bird

Old Bird (5/8)

  1. Thank you. Will give it all some thought. Not moving till May so I have a few months to think through. Only really looking for a back garden hobby
  2. Hi all, Thank you for the replies. I will give it some thought. I could have a 12 x 5 shed divided to give 2 sections and have a smaller aviary area. I'm only really looking to keep 4 pairs max and breed no more than 8 per year, train them and see what's still there at the end. I would consider racing later on, or maybe if I can find a local club that does organised training tosses to get me eased in slowly
  3. I realise this is an old post but looking for some info on natural. Hoping to restart with pigeons in May on a very small scale. 8ft x 5 loft Going forwards I like the idea of natural. I'll only have a small one section loft with aviary attached. If the birds are together all year round will I have probs with them breeding all the time? At the moment I'm not wanting to race but if I did in the future it would be a with a tilt at the longer races and I'm wondering if only having 1 section will he a problem
  4. Many thanks Steve for picking the bird up for me, very much appreciated.
  5. Hi all, Do we have any members near Postcode B29 Stonehouse Hill area who might be able to help me with a problem please? Regards PM007
  6. Thank you. I will give the RPRA office a buzz tomorrow and see if they have a club sec nearby.
  7. Hi all, I have received a call from a non fancier in Bewdley to say they have a pigeon of mine that they have found in their garden which seems to be in a poor way. Im in Sussex, so its a fair bit out of its way. Is there anybody local on here that would consider going to collect the pigeon on my behalf and allowing some time to recooperate and see if there are any injuries etc? Many thanks
  8. Hi there Wondering if anyone could help me out with this one. I've a stray pigeon (yearling) been picked up by a non fancier in this area. The bird seems well, no damage etc according to the finder but it doesn't look to keen on going anywhere. If there is anoyone on here nearby could collect the pigeon and allow a couple of days rest and recovery that would be great. Please let me know or if there are any clubs nearby that might be able to help out
  9. Morning all, Just over 2years ago I was suspended from my local region by secretary on rule 112. This was shortly after I had sold my pigeons and the new owner had not sent off the transfers I gave him despite assurances that he would do so. I now realise it was fully my responsibility to get the transfers sent myself. I was leaving the fancy at the time and did contact the buyer many times to get him to arrange collection of his pigeon. A few weeks after this I got a letter saying I had been suspended on rule 112. Again I was no longer a fancier this although annoying was not something I could do much about at the time. I am now back in the fancy and am wondering if the suspension is for life or if it would be lifted so I can join the RPRA again Thank you for reading
  10. Hi Steve I cant seem to get my PMs to work but I would like to say thank you for BHW back issues. They arrived this morning. Very much appreciated
  11. Hi all Just wondering if anybody has 4 or 5 recent copies of the BHW they are no longer needing. Happy to pay for them and postage. Please let me know and I will send you my details etc. Thank you Craig
  12. Hi stb, They are a mix of D & M Moore & P. Garner
  13. Hi all Bit of an odd one I guess but I know some pigeon fanciers also keep canaries so these may be of interest I have for sale 8 pairs of my exhibition Gloster canaries. These are a mixture of 2009 & 2010 birds. 2 cock birds being 2008 bred but these are very nice cobby, bulky birds and have bred for me this year. There is a mixture of coronas and consorts. Most are dark buff birds. These birds would be more suited to cage breeding than housed in mixed flights. I would prefer for them to be sold as one collection and would like £200 for the 8 pairs, or I would possibly consider selling them in single pairs etc if no interest on the 8pairs Below are a couple of photos. I am in Kent and collection would be welcomed or I have sent canaries with Midland couriers recently and found them to be reasonably priced and very good service
