  1. Hi to everyone in Scotland, its been a while since I posted any news on the site, this is just a quick update to let fanciers who have entered Who Dares Wins International One Loft Race from Scotland that the loft is now open and will close on the 14th April, the new web site should be live on the 6th February and in 2019 we will have Live Clocking plus Live Streaming. We ask that all entrants do vaccinate their youngsters for PMV at least 10 days before sending them to us and that the youngsters are between 30 to 40 days old, the reasons behind the change for 2019 are that we will immediately vaccinate the youngsters upon arrival against Salmonella and then 14 days later vaccinate them this time against PMV/HERPES, we also ask that the birds are transferred into the name of G&A Tomlinson Loft Number DY1453. I would like to congratulate Bobby Dalziel on a great performance in the SCMDPR on Saturday, Whilst on the subject of the SCMDPR of which it appears that connections within the loft won the race. We wish to make it clear that no-one connected to the Who Dares Wins International OLR is allowed to enter. Gary.
  2. Hi to all in Scotland, just a polite notice to say that G&R Couriers will be in Scotland next week collecting and delivering birds, they go as far as Fife and the cost is £40 for up to 6 birds except for dresses with FK or KY postcodes the cost is £45 for up to 6 birds, if anyone requires their service contact Gary 07725209762 or e-mail who.dares.wins@aol.com Thanks Gary
  3. Hi everyone, all is going well at the loft, the birds have adapted very well to our system and the health is superb fingers crossed it stays this way. Collection From Scotland we are in Scotland on Tuesday 20th March if anyone does have birds ready. Gary
  4. Hi to everyone up in beautiful Scotland, just a short update on whats been happening at the loft, we now have over 50 birds in the loft and each one is an absolute credit to their respective breeders, the first birds from the scottish borders arrived on Thursday and these came from Bobby Dalziel a previous One Loft Race Winner in Ireland, in 2017 Team Ettrick finished a very creditable 11th Open in a very hard final race from France 292 miles in a North East Wind, I must say Bobby although I didn't like how long the youngsters were travelling the birds were in great condition and a credit to you, when new arrivals come to us they are all vaccinated and given a tricho tablet, they then start their education, each bird is put through the traps by hand for the first 15 days, we then take them down the field and let them fly back to the loft and through the traps by themselves, this is hard work for me catching them every day but trust me it pays dividends, the birds become very tame and you gain their trust, the birds are also responding well to the whistle it's surprising how quick they learn what the whistle is for, we have more birds arriving daily and I will update now on a weekly basis. If anyone is unsure of anything them don't hesitate to contact me, we do still have a few places available if anyone is looking to get on board and test their birds, we are the only one loft race which races from France and goes alone. Remember Who Dares Wins Gary
  5. Hi everyone, well thats Blackpool out of the way, more entries from Scotland which we thank everyone for, I keep being asked when the loft is open for entries, the loft opens on 1st February and will close on the 16th April, if you want your birds collecting by us please can you let me know the week before collection, the perfect age of the youngsters is 27 to 30 days old but providing they are picking up and drinking OK then all should be good, the cost for us to collect is £40.00 per collection but you have the satisfaction of knowing your birds are in the loft the day of collection, we will be vaccinating the birds as they arrive but you can still vaccinate at 16 days old whilst in the nest if you wish. Exciting News My father has kindly donated a Gold Medal which will be awarded to the first Scottish Syndicate to time in from the final, my father has had pigeons all his life but is quite poorly at the moment he is in his 76th year so a big thanks dad. If anyone does have any questions then I am at your service 24/7 so please don't hesitate to contact me by phone 07725209762 or e-mail who.dares.wins@aol.com. Gary, Annette & Rob

  11. Hi to everyone, I must apologise for the delay in updating our own web site whodareswindoneloftrace.club with the information and photographs of the pigeons which will be auctioned at the SHU Show, the reason I am behind with everything is because our son Robert has been in hospital very ill, but fortunately he is much better now and we hope to have him home sometime this week. I have started to load the birds onto the web site to be viewed, we will be bringing 55 birds in total and they are all in superb condition, its important to remember all these birds have been tested they are not paper pigeons plus fanciers who send to One Loft Races send to win not come second thus the enter birds from their very best. Gary.
  12. You are quiet right our site it is slightly slower than other sites but I chose to give a young lad 16yrs old who was just starting out in the I.T world a chance, we had a great site which was super fast but this guy left us high and dry after just 12 months and took for £4,000, this young lad stepped in when we were in great need so unfortunately we will not turn our back on him and run elsewhere because the grass may look greener so to speak, our site maybe slower but it cannot be matched for updates regarding the race information, video's, Live Streaming on race days and what is happening around the loft on a day to day basis this has been commented on many times, hopefully as our I.T lad progresses the the site will get faster, thanks for you input its appreciated. Gary

The birds for sales 1 & 2 are now on our web site www.whodareswinsoneloftrace.club, the on-line auction for the birds in sale 1 is now live and its quite simple to bid you go to the web site, click on My Account, select Register and fill in the boxes, any problems just contact me 07725209762 we wish everyone the very best of luck, the most important thing to remember is these are not paper pigeon they have been tried and tested to the extreme. The SHU Show at Lanark...... The third sale is to be held at the SHU Show on the 9th December and we would like to thank the SHU Show Committee for allowing us to hold this sale, the sale is something we are looking forward too, many will note that most of the Scottish birds will be coming to this sale, we felt it was only fair to give the fancier's a chance to get their super stars back, there will also be many good principle pigeons coming to the sale as well, there will be approx 80 lots up for grabs which have all flown the channel 292 miles and its important to remember fanciers entering One Loft Races only send their best pigeons, the birds coming to Scotland can be viewed on our web site around the 27th November with the on-line auction going live on the 28th November, if anyone requires more info then contact me on 07725209762. Gary.
  14. Good evening to everyone, the weather to-day is terrible so thank goodness we raced last Sunday, there is no doubting the hardness of last weeks race and as previously stated the class came to the fore, for me this years race was the toughest to date, O.K two years ago it was hard but this was because of the poor weather in England, this year it was very hot as you all witnessed plus a North East Wind all the way need I say more. I would like to give a mention to a syndicate who for me are probably the most consistent to date to enter One Loft Races in the UK and Ireland, the syndicate is Cookstown Sizzlers, in 2012 they won the NCC and in 2013 they won the WDW race, but every year Carl and Glenn's birds are there about's especially when its gets tough, in our final this year they finished 5th Carl & Glenn well done to the both of you. After cleaning out etc to-day I stood in the loft for around 30 minutes just watching the pigeons and admiring their condition, there are some outstanding birds with quality just oozing out of them, tomorrow they will have a hot bath because on Tuesday its photo time, after having the photo's done we can then concentrate on getting them through the moult so they look first class in the sales pens, entries for 2018 have continued to come in and we are way ahead of this time last year which is great for us because you are rewarding our hard work and total dedication by supporting us again in 2018. The Prize and Pool Money Winner List has been amended and is now posted on the news page, also the Latest Race Result is posted on the results page. Gary
  15. Good evening all, we have had another 2 brave warriors home to-day these are SU17 4669 Hamilton Hopefuls and GB17N44714 Freehand Fighters, I have made a start trying to sort through the Prize & Pool money winners and hopefully I will have this sorted by Saturday, can't do anything tomorrow I am in London so Friday is the next time I will get a chance to have a look at things, It has been confirmed to-day by the SHU that we are OK to hold a sale at their show in Lanark in December, fantastic news because this is the first sale we have held in Scotland, as we are sure most are aware that these birds have been tested beyond belief so it's a great chance to grab a top class bird which has flown 292 miles in very difficult conditions e.g North East Wind and 90 degrees of heat.
