Thanks Susan and Old Yellow. Really happy with the result Regards Dave
  2. Thanks Fifer, they seem to be doing fine, i have rung them, they were full of food and growing well. Regards Dave
  3. An update on how they are doing: I went in this morning and they were still sitting on the nests, I feed the birds and the hens came off and when they returned to their nests both hens feed the young ones. When I came back from work tonight I feed then again and while the hens were feeding I checked the young ones they were both full of milk and looked ok. If all goes well I will ring them tomorrow night. Regards Dave
  4. I have just swapped the youngsters over under my 2 pairs which were sitting 21 days, I watched them for 15 minutes and the hens did not leave their nests. The hens just sat there fidgeted a bit but then settled down. I will check them again in the morning Just hope they feed then now! Here’s hopping Thanks again for your advice Regards Dave
  5. Thanks Old Yellow i will give it go. Regards Dave
  6. Thanks for the replies my worry is does it make any difference to the young one as the new parents will be giving milk after the original parents have just been giving milk for 5 days to the young one. Regards Dave
  7. Hi, I have pairs of young in the nest at 5 days old. Will a pair that is due to hatch (on plastic eggs because of them being broken) accept and rear a 5 day chick as I would like each breeding pair to rear a least one young? Thanks Regards Dave
  8. Felt tip pen cases work well, just cut with a hack saw to the length you want and if you are fussy you can even match the colours. Regards Dave
