  1. I hope this is a pi55take you will not get much better than what I saw today Several liberation’s Arshire South Lanarkshire Lanarkshire fed And couple of others from Scotland
  2. Well you lads who have got Tommy as a convoyer Lanarkshire federation after speaking to him today and his forward thinking regards the welfare and transportation of the birds is paramount and he is certainly in no rush to chuck em up, very laid back on site, first time ever I met him today, but he is a great convoyer in the making I hope you look after him and address any of his concerns to the better of your racing. All the best
  3. Just to say I attended the liberation site this morning and watched all liberation’s Weather was good. Sunshine brisk breeze very slight haze visibility approx 4 mile plus All birds cleared straight away non flying round Convoyers did a great job
  4. The weeds that grow are a menace is voltarol a success? Antifreeze is bad for cats so be carefull Not sure if it effects our non feather friends But gardening weeds are nothing to worry about
  5. http://www.nationalgamekeepers.org.uk/news/fairness-in-wild-bird-licensing-as-keeper-wins-landmark-legal-battle Gamekeeper high court victory against buzzards
  6. hi chaps I myself was using marrimans(Verse Laga) superwinner as i was only using it certain days the further i got down bag the more it smelled like urine so opened the bag in garden and it was heaving with tiny white grain mite binned it never bought it again. i once bought 1bag hemp 1bag rape 1bag canary 1bag safflower mixed all four into sealed 12kg tubs after using it a while i noticed too much dust at bottom of tin i was using to feed it on checking every tub had it. it came in the hemp as the proprieter splits bags and upon checking those they were covered with it. bought some farm barley from a different supplier last month on getting to bottom of bag young birds went off so got dust from bottom of bag tipped on to paper then put sellotape on it then onto a slide for microscope it was covered all still wriggling around so opened fresh bag did same check full of it so another bag in bin. the problem is rife and hard to deal with but burning flowers of sulphate clears it up
  7. if a stray enters my loft 1 check for stamp on wing and tail phone the number or report as found by non fancier organisations then give keepers details without the need of both parties receiving notification <formal> 2 ring the owner concerned have a natter 3 ask if they want to send for it 4 ask if they want to collect 5 will offer to feed n liberate if can in right direction 6 if they want me to prevent the streets getting cluttered then i shall deal with it without making a big deal of it we all should know the difference between a tryer n a failure and now its going to be harder to get birds back in scotland so think about your replies
  8. so lets say henrik if every pigeon you had lost you had to pay £40 pound regardless to get it back how long would you last as a flyer and i mean every pigeon young old etc etc ............. there is nothing to be gained from reporting people to governing bodies except self satisfacation the towns are littered with pigeons that dont want to go home check out the somerset one loft race 258 birds libbed in brussels on tuesday and none are back
  9. I B im confused your birds are leaving seed yet going through the moult no wonder there not moulting not even hungry the two best seeds in my opinion are linseed and rapeseed 50/50 the feathers drop out like snow flakes teaspoon per pigeon per day regardless of any other feed oh and after working in a protein recycling plant feathers are 90% protein a fat bird wont moult or even loose its down feathers
  10. go to your plumbers merchants buy some smoke testers put in loft without birds see how long it takes to clear the quicker the more air exchange the slower the less birds you can have if you have a pitched roof air will stagnate a pent roof open at top front n rear will allow warm to escape its the warm moist air that causes problems as regards number of birds it is not important if the air exchange is right check out stevie van breeman
  11. sparohonawkr pie served on a bed of chopped rubarbhu leaves on the menu now that could be appetiseing last chef said it was like asbestos

    Air In Crop

keep the bird isolated do as others say very small nick with stanley blade clean one,at front of crop cut gently till you see air bubbles then squeeze gently it either has a respiratory infection or has banged itself (balloon crop) give baytril for seven days or broad spectrum antibiotic you will probably have to squeeze the air out a couple of times may be a day later.. i had this happen to a racing cock cut him squeezed n when he went back to his box and spun he filled up again so had to isolate keep him calm no calling etc, that advice was from kev winter.
