  1. Hey Guys: Unfortunately I have a hen who got hit by a hawk today and I found her quite beat up in front of my garbage can outside. She has a slice in her and its bleeding. What should I do?
  2. Hey Guys, How do you pick your birds to send on a shipping night. What feathers in the moult do you look for when figuring out not to send a bird...for a 100 mile race. Ciao
  3. yeah, that's what i imagine...its generally only one or two who come home last. Don't know how to solve that problem though. stuff a grape down their throat before basketing?
  4. I believe he does put drinkers on the baskets.
  5. The training truck. We (the flyers from the club who want to train on the truck) take the birds to the driver at night, put them in the crates and then he liberates them early in the AM. Its a mass liberation so everyones birds mix.
  6. Lorry? Don't know what that is but i'm assuming its the basket. They were in the basket on the truck for about 13 hours
  7. Hey guys, I've noticed the last couple of birds that arrived from the last training toss (45 mile smash truck toss) had mud ont their feet. Do you suggest anything to put in the water before basketing?
  8. thanks for the response wiley, what electrolyte do you suggest?
  9. Hey guys, My birds had their first truck toss of 30 miles yesterday and came broken up and looked a tad tired lol, but they came within the right time of everyone elses. Unfortunately I am still out one as of this morning. I was wondering if I should be giving them any supplements? pro-biotic, electrolytes? any suggestions? tonight is another truck toss and I plan on sending most of them. Thanks for the help in advance!
  10. yeah, i was thinking cocci or canker-- what would you use for cocci? - should i treat the whole loft?
  11. Hi guys, I have a yb racer who started to go light. Her droppings are kind of slimey and she is getting thing. I've noticed she doesn't really eat anything but the smaller seeds like safflower. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to turn her around so I can continue to train her. I've separated her from the rest of the loft. Thanks
