Hatchling (3/8)

  1. No problem Bob. Lets hope they do you some good.
  2. yes i will prob pair depending on how it goes, but if so only for the last races in july
  3. Im trying roundabout for the first time, well cocks and hens anyway not sure about roundabout. Babies are ready to part, but as yet no eggs laid. Do you think it is important to let them go back down on eggs? or part with the babies like Ive always done with my widow cocks? First race next week 12 April but more concerned with the channel races in the summer
  4. I train wherever I go, usually against the wind. Can have some right sticky tosses by doing it. All depends really on what you want to achieve. If you want them to think and spend more time on the wing then do it with the risk of having a bad one (losses with babies). If you want to win sprint races it is probably better to train on a line
  5. Stuart - Why not put your cocks on the dark? Do you think it affects them in later life?
  6. I use both sites and also couldnt get in. Cheers for the advice guys. No wonder pigeon racing is in such a state when members arent allowed to help each other just because they look at a different site. Surely most of us look at all of them. We are all pigeon fanciers interested in all pigeon related topics regardless of which site they are!?
  7. Cheers I'll give them a bell
  8. I understand there is a courier operating out of Wales - Pigeon Tracker I think? Anyone have their number please? And prices? Anyone used them?
  9. Thames North & Eastern Counties Flying Club are looking for a driver/convoyer for the 2009 season. The job includes pick ups from clubs in the Essex area and the race points are along the south coast. Please PM me if you are interested or require further details.
  10. If you are not sure the amount to feed, add 25% barley to the mixture. When they start to leave the barley theyve had enough
  11. Ive 2 hens that are carrying similar lumps, although admitedly not as large. Not sure if they are protein lumps as they have not been on a high protein diet but I usually get the odd one, normally in a baby at this time of year. I just leave them alone and they are always gone prior to pairing and have noticed no ill effects.
  12. The two options were what I both considered. Pair the Stock at Christmas Time when I have a few days off or pair after Blackpool and undersit eggs to my racers. Just wondered if the extra month of age made much difference? Especially regarding sexual maturity?
  13. A question for successful YB darkness flyers. When do you consider is the best time to pair to breed a successful darkness team?
  14. I have seen pigeons treated and vaccinated (twice) against parathyphoid still contract it months later. Signs to look for are 1. Bad moult blood quills 2. Bad Hatch, dead in shell, babies dying in nest. 3. Dropped floppy wing. Only one cure for parathyphoid i'm afraid imo
  15. If you live near Aylesbury and can pick up an injured pigeon from a non fancier can you please PM me
