REDCHEQHEN
It happens every year but I don't know why - a few youngsters moult regardlessIt's over 5 weeks to the first young bird race - and one is down to five flights already and another 6I've not looked at them all either, just a couple, they looked strange as they are losing their bars! What can we do to prevent this from happening? They'll be coming off the dark in a few days - do people start using lights to try and get them to hold on to their flights - that's something we've never tried

Tony C
Once they drop the 5th flight they'll start body moulting naturally so wouldn't worry about them losing their bars. These will be in better nick at the back end of the season and should be on their last two flights (be careful not to send them if their about to cast a flight). To help slowing the moult down train them hard and get them sitting.
