greenlands
Now that the dust has settled and everyone's concentrating on the moult or even showing, how are your bird doing flight wise ?My old birds are nearly all on the last some finished, young birds are well on as they only got one disastrous race so enough was enough, handled a few this morning some with 9th out others 10th,only getting out once/twice a week for a bath depending on the weather. feeding on what was left over from racing plus beans. alex young
Old birds nearly through just a couple with one to throw, never reared y/bs to race but bred a few off stock which were not darkened and these are growing the last flight. Tony C
I've a question regarding the moulting of primary flights: How many days does it take for outer primary flights to grow 1 inch? A rule of thumb answer would be fine.
Kyleakin Lofts
Most of the OB's either finished or on last flight. YB's at varying stages depending on which round they were. Some really late ones not started throwing yet, so will be raced with nest flights next year.

Tony C
I've a question regarding the moulting of primary flights: How many days does it take for outer primary flights to grow 1 inch? A rule of thumb answer would be fine. My guesstimate on this is primaries 1-5 grow a tad quicker at a 1/4'' a day whilst 6-10 grow 1/5'' a day. Would be handy to know for sure.
