I think this is something that a lot of people might think is wrong but say nothing, personally I would say that this should be a condition of sale especially on a site like this that ring numbers should be shown.I,m not suggesting for one moment that there could be a problem but it is something that I would like to see. Dont want to turn this into any arguments but how can someone sell you a differant bird if the ring number is quoted, there are still certain conditions I believe must be kept to on here doesnt matter who,s selling the birds. PIGEON_MAN
Ive bought birds with out rings,if i like the look of it i buy it simple, nice birds these There is no problem with that so long as you get the bird that you think your getting,I have personally picked pigeons up from someone who was selling on here and taken them to the new owner, the first thing he said when taken one of them out of the box was" Thats not the bird than was in the picture,"and that was an occasion when ring numbers were not shown on the origanal sale. Guest puresoontjen
Ive bought birds with out rings,if i like the look of it i buy it simple, nice birds these yes agree nice birds, but you do get some that dont send the birds in the sale. rings NEED to be shown on a sale. if you brought a car off a car dealer with out the number plates on who nos who it belongs to or what year it is.its the same princable. swilcox
If nobody minds i would like to comment on this subject I have over the last few years placed many adverts in the BHW regarding pigeons for sale, sometimes i place the ring number and sometimes i dont. At the start i didnt as i was worried about security and people breaking into my property with a ring list to hand, after that i placed ring numbers next to birds for sale and noticed that i had a better responce. However in the last two season i have gone back to Just Coluors and sexs after all the problems on the continent and as we are now an established name and people have trust is us then it has made no differance. Remeber when you buy blind you are blind and you are totally at the hands of the seller, people know that and trust is key to selling so you have to be whiter than white in my opinion and then people will put there faith in you. After every advert i get many phone calls, people say i want this one and that one please, i often say ok but can i offer a bit of assisstance, Lot 1 and 4 would not make a good pair, but 1 and 6 would, the reply is often i dont like the look of lot 6????? At the end of the day its just text in a book!!!! There reply no i will stick with 1 and 4!!!! I often now dont put the ring number and list 24 pigeons for sale, a cock and hen from each pairing, but in reality i may have 4 the same way bred, that way i can select the best possible pairings and pigeons for those people who put there trust in me, i offcourse explain this from the out set, and i always take great pleasure in recieving that phone 10 minutes after the courier has arrived. You have to as purchaser put faith in the person you are buying off and seller you should cherish that trust and always respect it as a reputation can be priceless.
