JohnQuinn Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Probably the most positive program I have seen on the box about us and our doos. Pointed oot the probs of streeters but gave a true'ish picture of what it's like tae keep them and highlighted what they done to save soldiers and airmen during the two wars.
Ryan Hay Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Thought it was a great programme, and the fanciers interviewed on it done a great job.
REDCHEQHEN Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 I was disappointed, it was mainly old footage for the racing pigeons and too much negativity and I couldn't believe that in the rolling credits at the end they couldn't spell Association (they had put an 's' before the c )

greenlands Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Enjoyed it,can remember taking the pigeons on horse and cart down to the local railway station.
greenlands Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 In case you missed it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08dwxhn

Showed the general public, we all push pram frames to our club with baskets on them.
john cumming Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 I overall thought it was good perhaps a bit dated and could have shown more modern day footage of pigeon racing & showing of fancy pigeons , quite interesting seeing the history of the birds. Overall opinion made pleasant viewing John
moscow master Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Poor show only a fancier could relate to it any young person watching that certainly won't be rushing out to buy a loft
dunc50 Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 thought it was very good, it was trying to let people no how it was in the hey day and give some of the history of what is an amazing feathered athlete
showman Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 TIMESHIFT (BBC) ..."Documentary series which ranges widely over Britain's social and cultural history, its narrative-led storytelling offering a richly immersive and varied window onto the past" A well made and interesting documentary, which fulfilled it's remit perfectly by showing things as they were, not as they are.
geordie1234 Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Thought it was pretty good to be honest
VMS Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Thought it was great really different to all the usual racing pigeon videos
podgy Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Great to see some of the older fanciers from my organisation the unc on there , one fancier in particular ces rawson and his wife in there younger days, ces was a winner of 1st, unc, in 1955, and is still doing his bit for the sport of racing pigeons now, being a senior vice president of the unc, well done to all who took part and the bbc for finding time to show the film, podgy
