The weather is usually the biggest factor in dissasterous races, from Carentan I don't think the birds got a clean run over the channel, my opinion of course I had no birds at that race. I chose the inland Nat.

which turned out ok.Remember the heatwave that weekend the SNFC were advised not to go to Ypres because the racing in Belgium was suspended because of the high tempretures.

snfc never had that excuse at the time it was down to ferry terminal they said , and didnt arrange inland national until lanarkshire fed arranged there race from carentan, no mention of weather at all, ps and there has been worse national races than carentan

Did they not say the didn't want extra time in the basket with hot weather forecast that the ferry dispute was going to cause?

7 races and only at 210 mls Tommy no for me pal i would rather be at 300 mls or thereabouts by the 7th race in an ideal world

Alan no in your fed but the committee proposal has 9 races at or under 210 miles , think Tommy,s one is better for all birds smaller steps out and still longer races to test tour birds jmho pal.good luck guys

Geo.That would be another vote then, it would be another majority vote, and if not carried then its a vote between the two proposals, end off. The last thing we want is the meeting to develop into a rabble.

these proposals are only guide lines the members have the right to vote for individual races as was agreed at our AGM

I think that's a better way of racing in this day and age , like the start if it's too cold say for the first 3 races you either throw the yearlings/latebreds away or you keep them and jump them into the forth or maybe the fifth race which is either 170 - 200 mile approx , I think most Feds jump them down the road far too quick .for what just to get them to the national races .
