Rainman Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Why do irish mixes not have wheat in them
Tony C Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 I've always regarded Irish mixes as a high protein feed, perhaps this is why they lack wheat.
dkj Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Why do irish mixes not have wheat in them buckton irish mix Composition: Maple Peas, Plate Maize, Red Dari, White Dari, Tares, Blue Peas, Safflower Seed and White Peas.
Wiley Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Talking to a friend in ireland marcielbill, he had a belief that irish pigeons needed to be fed a higher protein feed, due to their climate. Racing on my system it proved to him that this wasnt the case. However many still believe it does. Much like the junior uk mixes, they are very high in protein also, as many uk fanciers like these heavy mixes.
MIK Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 oul man told me it was a fat food which if not regulated caused excess weight, was fed sparingly on its own for the further races ..might try and source a bag for 2017
