Last race coming up this Saturday and I've really enjoyed my first season flying pigeons.

Raised some youngsters and put them on the darkness system and had a bit of luck in managing 2 club 1sts a 4 th and every week except once birds in the top ten had a couple in the top ten of the fed as well.

So all in all I'm very pleased with my first season .

I could do with a bit of advice from you guys as what I do next ?

I had the youngsters on the dark from weaning till June 21st

Since August 1st I've ran lights in the loft on a timer till 10:15 pm

Some birds haven't dropped a single flight and some are on6/7 th

What can I do to help them all achieve a good moult and ensure there in good nick for racing as on on the widowhood system ? I'll be looking to pair them mid jan and hopefully get 1 round for my by team next year

Is there any feeding , lighting system or suppliments that would make it easier on them?

Should I move the cocks to there widowhood boxes now ? Is flying out beneficial or should they be kept in to moult?

All advice appreciated fellas

Jimmy

I see you've had good year. I seperate now and

onto natural light and feed as normal.

Don't try to push them next and don't worry

about held flights.

Wait till 2 year olds and it will pay you well.

I've not scored with them as yearlings regardless

whether they have completed moult.

Lost the best in fact. But as old birds timed

out to Alencon 610mls(6th north sect)

3rd 5th Maidstone and 1st Clermont etc.

advice be patient !!!

Ps;I don't pair till February 14th,found this plenty

of time for darkies, weening mid April
