What you are describing is widowhood cocks in the huff over having had their hens removed. After a period of messing around they get down to it, but not if you continue to give / show hens. The cocks have never had their hens since sept last year , I had 52 hens and only 31 cocks so that was reason for trying celibate to save me time . I accept that I was to blame but have just got fed up trying to get cocks in so gave them some hens to settle them a bit , the end result is the same that they go on roundabout earlier than planned ..
