greenlands Posted August 27, 2014 Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 Are they ever any good,sent 26 to the first young bird race and got 25 back.No.3 missing,that was on the 12th July.Had the old birds out this mo and noticed one join them,when they dropped it was No.3.not much worse for wear infact body wise handled well.It's in a pen at the mo.cankered fed and watered.What would your next step be ? Give it some time. Why wouldn't it be any good. It clearly knows where home is and after staying out knows the best place to be. racing novice Posted August 27, 2014 Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 one of my y/bs was missing for 3 weeks like yours she looked and felt ok so i put her in the next race 6 days later and she topped the fed,over 3000 birds, so worth a second chance imo. andy Burgess Posted August 27, 2014 Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 Are they ever any good,sent 26 to the first young bird race and got 25 back.No.3 missing,that was on the 12th July.Had the old birds out this mo and noticed one join them,when they dropped it was No.3.not much worse for wear infact body wise handled well.It's in a pen at the mo.cankered fed and watered.What would your next step be ? if you have a comeback race ? line it up for that .if not , half a dozen trainers , and put bye for next season. i did post about a yearling who did not return from the first yb race last year .yet showed up 11 months later back here ,still with ets and phone number ring , a little thin , yet otherwise in good order , no stress marks on flights etc . he has paired to a yearling hen in the yb section , had 6 x 10 milers and a 67 mile race (the point he was lost at last year) and a further 1 at 130 mile , both a North West wind so neither an easy day .will be put bye now till next season Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
