duncandoo Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 seems to me that the lanarkshire fed is in decline mr h with not picking up clubs is getting worse and it is only a matter of time before all races are central marking therefore putting pressure on clubs to stay afloat maybee his aim is only to have three or four super clubs and i am shure that this will cause a lot of resentment all to save a few pounds

Guest youngzimmy Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 BEING AN EXPERT YOU WILL KNOW I PRESUME
bombersbullets Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 In my eyes as being a youngish ;D pigeon fancier i think some of the older fanciers some not all most of um highest prize winners they know who they are lol 8) don't want club racing to go forward. Things like not wanting to open radius and fly in clubs with 4 Ur 5 people in it ;D basically i think there are to many small clubs in my area anyway with not enough money to fly for i know its not about money but its nice to think u could win it lol i think we should get small clubs together and make um stronger and get pigeon racing stonger that way for the good of the sport because i fear the worst for club racing and then its all down hill then 8)
Guest youngzimmy Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 i dont think that is true for most fanciers whether they are older or not it has to combine to continue
Guest lenwadebob Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I couldn't be further away from the 'hub' of Scottish racing, but from an outsiders perspective I feel there is far to much in-fighting going on from the very top. I have tried to put myself in the position of a young person just wanting to start in the hobby and to be honest if I had read or heard, back when I was just starting out in the 1950's, what I see and hear now, about the total lack of harmony in the hobby, I very much feel I would have been out of it a long time ago. There seems to be little or no incentive to encourage new young blood in the sport, and all you read about is conflicts between Individuals, Clubs, Federations or Nationals. Not really the shop window we should be dressing to encourage newcomers, or to alter the perception that the General public has of this hobby. Take a look at some of this to emphasise my point. http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1259442944/s-0/ http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1259320017/s-0/ http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1258663834/s-0/ http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1258555285/s-0/ http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1257901140/s-0/ http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1258386453/s-0/ And it's NOT only Scottish racing that has this problem, it applies across the length and breadth of Great Britain.
Guest IB Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Didn't read the links lenwadebob I didn't need to, to agree with your analyses - not the best shop window. And no insight into how it makes 'us all' look to outsiders - on a forum that can be read world wide. Was talking about this very thing 'face to face' with Frank Dooman the other night, I reckon, as a rule of thumb if you can't talk face to face about a subject without causing a ruckus, then you shouldn't be posting it up on here. To do so, in my opinion, its just having a go - it is both cowardly and solves nothing.
