fastblack Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 perth/ayr i could be wrong here!! how could either of them be on your line of flight????? u got to train them to come from anywere its called education
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 u got to train them to come from anywere its called education oh ok every one to there own its just that jonsy was complaining about going east. i think i will just keep on educating my birds from the south/east doesnt seem to be doing them any harm all the best
fastblack Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 oh ok every one to there own its just that jonsy was complaining about going east. i think i will just keep on educating my birds from the south/east doesnt seem to be doing them any harm all the best remember east suits u but in the west the birds have got to b a bit more wiser so if u train from all over they soon find the shortest way home imo yours in sport fast
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 remember east suits u but in the west the birds have got to b a bit more wiser so if u train from all over they soon find the shortest way home imo yours in sport fast so am i in the east ? i think the birds come up the east side of the country most of the times so what do your birds learn training from perth thats north/east of you and ayr is as far west you can go and both are hoaching with birds of prey but as i said every one to there own
Fair Play Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Birds of prey everywhere even round my back garden
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Birds of prey everywhere even round my back yes agree but why put your birds right in the lions den every time we send our birds training/racing we take our chancies with percy i prefere to try and keep that to a minimum sparowhawks are one thing percy is something very different
budgie Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Again very true Lost another 2 today.
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 fastblack where do you race from ? are you in glasgow?
fastblack Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 so am i in the east ? i think the birds come up the east side of the country most of the times so what do your birds learn training from perth thats north/east of you and ayr is as far west you can go and both are hoaching with birds of prey but as i said every one to there own so r u telling me theres no bop on east i train the birds to come from anywere i believe if i keep training birds on east route it becomes a habit 4 them & they end up like sheep its only my way of thinking and as u say each to there own and as old frank says himself i did it my way
fastblack Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Lost another 2 today. what area r u budgie
Fair Play Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I like many others we put our birds into the lions den as soon as we open our lofts - last week Alf posted about a seagull that had been killed by a hawk last night at the club one of the members told us about a hawk attack on a seagull at first he actually thought it was a white pigeon never heard of seagulls being attacked as they should be able to outwit a hawk unless it was the usual sneaky attack.Got one in the house today for treatment badly ripped took it in out of the cold
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 so r u telling me theres no bop on east i train the birds to come from anywere i believe if i keep training birds on east route it becomes a habit 4 them & they end up like sheep its only my way of thinking and as u say each to there own and as old frank says himself i did it my way ofcourse they are every where but the shu paid lots of good money to survey the most popular areas and you are training from at least 1 of them maybe some of the boys from the perth area can give us there views on that area all the best for next year
fastblack Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 frank im only giving u my own opinion not having a go or anything but every 1 has there own way of doing things. all the best fast
Guest frank dooman Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 frank im only giving u my own opinion not having a go or anything but every 1 has there own way of doing things. all the best fast yes i understand thats fine but the thread is that glasgow fed has gone mad from jonsy i dont think they are going far wrong thats only my opinion and jonsy is entilted to his i think the thread heading is a bit strong and i dont think its about the birds learning or not i think its the old nuget overfly!! iam still waiting on jonsy to give alternative(suitable) race points

Fair Play Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Computor is like me "Knackered" takes about half an hour to load up, keeps freezing and not responding on it's last legs ;D ;D ;D
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 peebles suits me just fine sometimes perth Peebles is where we recomended.. then on toward Hawick, which falls a little west of St. Boswells If we race from the East i can see us chucking it.. bit harsh, but true
ally mac Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Being a relative novice I thought the closest to line of flight training was the obvious way to go. Obviously a lot more to it than that. Interesting to see all the different views from experienced flyers.
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Your exactly correct Ally... instead we are over complicating things trying to avoid raptors, clashing etc.. These are un - avoidable obstacles in racing pigeons now..
ally mac Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Its interesting all the opinions, I am trying to understand the thoughts behind them all to learn from them. As I said, lots of experienced flyers with differing opinions and doing well on different sides of the country. More than one road to Rome I suppose.
