Delboy Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 well derek lanarkshire officials will only have there self to blame i am scunnered with the ways things have been going in the fed over the last few years since i am have come into this fed there is no leadership or vision but look at the snfc they were in turmoil mr houston has come in and steadied the ship we need someone to come in steady the ship stop the politics and do what is best for lanarkshire members i would hope john quinn steps up next year i would maybe shake the top table up a bit called new blood new idea's because we have done it for 30 years do we need to keep doing the same???? Mr Houston has done a great job m8, but the reason the SNFC is back on track is because a certain person is out the way and this has alot to do with big Gareth and myself not accepting the dodgy things that went on in the past. As I said in my last post, the Lanarkshire AGM is passed and no changes were made. This comes down to the members frightened to stand up and be counted. My theory is this: The top table should be elected every 3 years, this means that all the decisions are made by the top table for 3 years and unless they make a total mess of things during this period,( this would result in an emergency Agm ) nothing they do should be questioned. If any of the officials are kept on after 3 years then it is a sign that they were up to the job. This would get the officials working hard to keep their place at the top table. I also think the officials should have their fees paid and also get maybe £200 - 300 as an incentive.

slinky slitheroe Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 we will be having a meeting, and then the delegates will inform you all of the way we plan to go forward, hopefully we will have all the members on board, to ease the case as a few got a fright, when money was mentioned, we have done OK in the past when calling for help, we might decide, on sales, gold rings, raffles, transport design might be the name of the game, but with 10,000 birds, we have to try and please every one, there could be a bird restriction for a year or two, as the way forward will dictate that, and as some say if a Bann was implemented by defra, restrictions would certainly apply £90,000 is not hard to spend and remember just because we got £4.00 on the subscription don't mean we qualify right away for a transporter, a few good men, will be needed before we get to that stage :o Bigda when do you foresee lanarkshire with new transporters?
LOUD AND PROUD Posted December 5, 2009 Author Report Posted December 5, 2009 Bigda when do you foresee lanarkshire with new transporters? When theres a breakaway and theres only newmains left in the fed as its them thats calling all the shots
Guest bigda Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Bigda when do you foresee lanarkshire with new transporters? within 2 years just a case of the members giving us total control of the funds to banter with as i found out used to fight with both hands behind my back, but now i prefer one if we can get the wagon to be able to lift of with a old hi ab truck and it made that it quick clamps down, we might on the first use of it, be able to save the fed £100 per week hoping but its a start, and would be at least transporters to be proud of

Guest bigda Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 my way of thinking is 100 baskets £10 = £1,000 £250 for truck hire includes insurance £300 Dev £150 driver -------------- £ 700 save £300 for fed 18x 300= £5400 granted not all trucks would go to the 18 races not unless we took clubs with us that total would out shine the saving the lanarkshire made profit this year thats all i can say so the quicker we get the ball rolling the better if when we finally get enough transporters we could be flying for 5 races £3,000 without worrying about having the money to cover it as it would be self generated from the later year not going to say any more on this because there are certain ones, on here if its not there ball, they don't want to play ,
Guest bigda Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Where will the units be stored :-/ hopefullyl they would not cost any more than a caravan and if all aluminium dont rot baskets kept in clubs

Guest frank dooman Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 i think thats one of the best points made on this thread pigeon guy 147 if you look at the feds that have got the transport 100% they will all have the right guy looking after it Glasgow =Gordon Geddes South Lanarkshire = Willy Jonson 2 of the best in the buisness ( would you try and do a brain transplant without a surgeon???)
Fair Play Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 You have got to start somewhere and all the better if you have someone with experience to guide but like all institutions they have all had to start at the bottom- don't knock the guys that are trying unless you are prepared to throw your hat into the ring to help

Guest pigeonguy147 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 dont matter what size of wagons you are trying to purchase its the upkeep of them and if you read my post it states not just a driver but various posts including transport controller also would you give 90 grand to a brush salesman and tell him to buy a motorised road sweeper dont think so
