Guest bigda Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 are there any point in having club huts now, as there seems to be fed control with setting the cost of birdage every year, and leaving the clubs without the prospect of adding much on to the cost of the birdage to help support the daily ruining of there club, to add to that, the fed then also adds more expense to the outside clubs by making races central marking, and then its left to these clubs to arrange and pay for there birds to be ferryed to the central marketing stations , as this is extra expense and the fed is in profit, i do not see why they should"nt have there transport costs meet, after all it is not the fault of the members that the numbers are going down, as this can only put more clubs to the wall having to find some one with a van ever time there is central marking, doing it any other way also affects the clubs income going to Central marking stations then handing them who are bigger there fees, also the members are then left out of pocket with additional cost for petrol get and returning from these places if the fed is in profit that year, the situation should be no increase on theses small clubs, and there are other clubs just about needing a transporter on there own, with the amount of birds they ferry to marking stations in some cases 2 runs to be made, so i think this should be addressed this year before the season begins. big da as it is
duncandoo Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 could be that clubs with say under ten members may have to basket at the bigger clubs then next year clubs with under fifteen members then down to three or four clubs only wonder what the pool money will be like then and how many lanarkshire members will be lost with there clubs :'( :'( :'( :'(

Guest bigda Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 sorry to hear that harky, but the feds don't realize how hard it is for the committee to try and get 2 p on the birdage above the fed price, because the fed has hammered it before leaving nothing for the clubs to add, and with the increase in subscriptions hitting partnership they in turn get removed from the clubs. when a fed can make a profit it should always be status quo first and for most, as there are members out here in the lanarkshire that have great club huts, and are there for there own community involvement, and no club in the lanarkshire fed should have the upper hand on any one club, and i would go as far as to say the fed should be giving financial aid to clubs that are finding it hard to keep there clubs afloat
Guest bigda Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 could be that clubs with say under ten members may have to basket at the bigger clubs then next year clubs with under fifteen members then down to three or four clubs only wonder what the pool money will be like then and how many lanarkshire members will be lost with there clubs :'( :'( :'( :'( hopefully we can help the clubs that are finding it hardest to survive, we don't need to have clubs with 60 members in one why not make incentives for members to join smaller clubs, to even up membership numbers, this could be made possible through the federation, and in the federations own interest, as it would be a sorry state if the clubs becomes no more than a one club fed
ALF Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 We dont pay any prize money in our club but i know other clubs do it but then you would be looking at charging club members around 50p a bird to send to the races so it's a decision you have to make i suppose .Next year our club will charge 40p a pigeon which is approx £1.20 a basket above the fed based on there being 28 doos in each basket but as i said we wont be paying out any prize money off it
PIGEON_MAN Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Could I ask if every club pays the same amount per bird and does the fed own its own transporter.
ALF Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Could I ask if every club pays the same amount per bird and does the fed own its own transporter. All clubs are charged £10 a basket Tony and we have our own trailers but need to hire units to pull them

Harmony in clubs now is very rare, well done to Peter White ( secretary )and Jim Hannah ( President )for running the club so well.
