whats good about pigeon racing today?

i just read youre post on the other one "whats wrong with" and thought thats a good posotive post Frank,shame i cant cut n paste. i would have put it here ,very honest ,well done mate ,thats another good thing .         andy.

 

thanks andy but i think there are many more like me out there they just dont say anything its like lots of things its only the bad apples we here about but they are in the minority i think

for me it has not all been good but i do like when you see them coming and when they trap like a winner and when you go in to the loft and see a bird and you no that is the one for you and it dose the job you put it in for now that when it all happens for me

being told you are the winner

feeding a group of youngsters by hand

watching your birds ranging in a blue sky with the lofts cleaned and a coffee in hand at 06.00

trying a wee trick in the loft and it working

seeing a bird dive on return

when the sun is shining on your birds and they look fit and healthy

for me its when i walk into the loft and all other lifes worrys and strains are gone as the only thing you think about then is the birds , i also think it gives some of us a purpose to carry on careing for the birds example my mate packed in raceing last year but i got him to get some fancy birds and keep some old racers . he had been his partners full time carer for the last five years and sadly lost her this year but he told me hes glad he didnt get rid of all the birds as it gives him a reason to get up in the morning and take his mind off things .

good post the birds are the best leveler in the world if you need a wee bit of time out the lofts the place ive seen me in there for 2/3 hrs and her indoors says what do you do in there but you think youve only been in there for 5 mins its great to just sit and watch points
