yep walter could put you back on the map, telling it, as it is, and  how hard it is flying north and when they time in the borders, you have the same distance to go as the lanarkshire when they  race out of  Worcester 260 mile+  not much fun i know  but explaining  it as it is, is bigdas way  of saying it not many  will have thought of it  like this   but that  is another 6 1/2 hrs on the wing for your birds.

to bring the national  up to speed, in the modern day racing, if i was to deliberate over it,  i would be looking at the modern day racing, as against the racing of old, as i would like to think the modern bird  have changed  faster  at the sprints, and to have birds that can also  race fast,  as like the middle distance birds, now the middle distance bird after been timed in sets the pace of the race or velocity, but should you only need  middle distance birds to win you the national, but the middle distance birds are of no use to you at 550-600  only brining this up as certain family's of birds,  can race at vel of  11000 up to 450mile, any more and the go down, so hope you can see that  although you race distance there are  2 types of birds needed,    distance  kills velocity.  but faster doos in the shorter  distance   race  kills

the fairest of races  ;D ;D
