Hello every one I know I haven't been on the site for a while but I have just been reading a post about breeding times and some people have already paired up and some are paring next weekend after Blackpool whereas others are waiting till March April time so my question is when is the best time to pair up and if there is no best time what is the difference from starting just now and leaving it until end of March beginning of April

Any help appreciated

Thanksin advance Craig

really have to pick at time that suits you when you can spend a good bit off time getting them settled and on eggs in the correct boxes , you would also give yourself ample time to get them preped up for breeding .

Okay thansk a lot guys so what iv got from that is the best time is when you have a lot of time on your hands to get everything sorted and for yearling that you want for national races pair them up during the middle of February is that correct? And another question is what is the best time to pair up your birds that you want young bird national birds from?

Thanks Craig

I shall be pairing mine up On the Monday after Blackpool it gives me 2 weeks parted from ybs to fly old birds out and 2 weeks to give a bit of road work :) Breed too early you have far more work and cost :)

Hi Craig i was talking to a friend who said he got 6 birds in April of last year and he said he could have raced the whole young bird prog with them so if you count back from there pairing, sitting ,rearing ,that would give you a time ,because remember the earlier you breed the more expense to keep them imo!
