It is with deep sadness we inform the fancy of the passing of our loyal and dedicated Secretary ANDREW SHEPHERD. Andy had been in poor health for the past six years but was never one to complain he just got on with the job and was always present to  oversee race marking and clock reading also attending conscientiously to the myriad of other duties of the Secretary. Andy finally succumbing to his illness on 3 June  aged 82.

Andy had been a member of the Arbroath Racing Pigeon Society for for 64 consecutive years, he was indeed a stalwart and part of the fabric of our club.

Probably his greatest performance with his pigeons was in 1964 when Andy was 1st Open in the East of Scotland Continental Club smash race from Paris with his red pied cock "Gay Paree". He won a much coveted Osman Memorial Trophy for this performance.

Andy will be much missed, as will his contribution to the smooth running of the club.

To his wife Val also Heather and Andrew and families we extend our deepest sympathies.

Rest in peace Andy.
