Guest welshman
its a shame that it has come to this.all pigeon fanciers have something in common we all keep pigeons.if we could all just work together you would be surprised how much easier it would be to get these birds home.there are loads of feds all over the uk every weekend and with just a little organisation these lost birds could be gathered up and taken back to their area.this putting them in the bin lark is so wrong.we are responsible for putting the birds in the position in the first place and it is our responsibility to help them out when their in trouble.all strays that drop into my place are given food, water and five star digs for however long they need it.if the owners no longer want them they are found new homes and are given to new starters etc to breed out of.better than being "put in the bin"
Guest homestead
It would be great to have some sort of relay system to get the birds back if we all worked togther but???? and i wish some of my young birds were reported they got spooked flew off and not seen again and they all have Tel No rings on. gulkie
I inquire about every stray I get in and if someone tells me they have a stray in I askThem if they would like me to report it via the PB. The last one I put on for a friend The owner hadn't the common decency to reply. These things don't help towards theDecline of our sport so come on fanciers help strays on their way . Report them. Delboy
The other year I organised 10 Scottish strays to be collected from all over Wales and brought them up to my loft.I found out who belonged to them and asked for £10 to pay the courier and the expenses of the guy that collected them in Wales.( nothing for my own time and effort ) 3 of these pigeons were not paid for and I was out of pocket. I had sent £60 down to the fella in Wales and paid the courier.Never again will I go out my way for pigeon fanciers that I don't know.I try and do a good turn and am £30 out of pocket. Walter swanston
The administrators of this pigeon site are very quick to step in on occasion when they see any posts that they consider offensive. There ain't nothing offensive in this thread but it provides amnution for certain persons who are anti pigeon racing. The Internet is accessible by everyone. REDCHEQHEN
I have 4 strays in at the moment, and have made contact with 3 of the owners. 2 will be given a helping hand home, one, we might have to hang on to for a month to help it home - but I don't mind, we have 8 spare boxes in the shed - its not the fault of the birds if their owners are unresponsive and I'd like to think that others would treat my strays with the same kindness that I do. Tiger - your attitude is rather disappointing
