I also agree. If someone has come up with reasons they must be investigated, especially since they seem feasible.

I have only returned to the sport after almost 20 years break, but I kept up with news how some fanciers were doing. One of the most disturbing of news where stories of heavy losses by some members and on average they were working out over the season something like 50% o.b. rising to 80% y.b.and yet very little has been done to look into this, many fanciers seem to accept these losses and increase the number of y/birds trying to compensate for these losses.
Recently I have been reading comments from "Walter Boswell" and feel that his views should be explored and tried and advice from the makers of vaccine,I honestly believe that a team should be set up from S.H.U./R.P.R.A./N.E.H.U.....OR ANY OTHER ORGANISATION WISHING TO TAKE PART.they can take this further than any individual. There is more to the causes of poor returns than many fanciers appear willing to accept, after all they are homing pigeons, some may be faster than others but that they should home,I remember when in partnership with my father we had to select what we felt were the best old birds and dispose of others to make room for the next year yearlings no one seems able to do that any more......WHY...?

Yes everybody including myself agrees that Walter had some interesting posts on losses and ybs,as yet there is NO cure for ybs as it is a virus or so the professionals tell us and yes in some places there are heavy losses but nobody will ever convince me that there is a cure in a bottle for that ,but as I said previously good luck to Walter if he can make a few quid with his cure and hope he has discovered something wonderful

yes only fit and healthy birds will win,and yes he has stuck his neck out by claiming he will guarantee that every fancier in Britain will lose less birds with his cure, but everybody is entitled to their opinion. It might help him to win folk over if all the fanciers that are trying his cure out could post up their returns from now till the end of the season and then everybody can see and judge for themselves on its performance, should have added that folk will only sell you expensive stuff if you are prepared to buy it and you are right you wont get much for a tenner

thats all i ask tammy dont knock it till you try it and when you try it come on here and be honest about it im not out to rip anyone off it wont give the stupid a brain but it will help keep the birds free of the disease thats spreading round the clubs which imo is the cause of 90 percent of the or old bird losses m8 there are guys sending me pm that there losing 10 and 12 birds from a 20 mile toss thats not right and its not bob taking them all one or two yes but the rest should be turning up the next day if there healthy thats what homing pigeons do

maybe it just helps them fight it tammy all i know is it makes a big difference to the birds that have it and seems to keep it away from the birds that dont ill get my bad race or toss to but no matter what the majority should get home and so far thats what im seeing and passing on to the guys that are interested lets wait a few weeks and see what the guys that are going to use it say im here to be shot down or not as the case maybe i have never stated it cures ybs i stated it keeps or helps keep away what your old birds are getting off sick or vacinated young birds and thats the cause of the problem i have found and the only way to stop that is for us all to vaccinate our birds at the same time say all old birds in september and all yb two or three weeks before yb racing starts then a rule stateing your not alowed to vaccinate birds out with these times no jagging birds in nests and putting open vaccine in fridge it its not and never has been reuseable once opened
