dal2 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 You would be better wae a brother laser printer thast parrallel or usb and is much cheaper to run.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 there are lots of printers that actually do the job and not just the ones they specify
dal2 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 there are lots of printers that actually do the job and not just the ones they specifyThats bang on but have found the brother easier for drivers and very economical
ovy1255 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 can only presume you havent got electric at your club basket hut and want to run it off an inverter.inkjet printers are sh-t been there done that.most printers dont like being moved about every week-and inkjet dont like being left as ink dry,s up.if you do have power problems get a dot matrix printer -parallel port of corse they are a great back up printer --slow but reliable ,all MOT stations used these at first and have just moved up to lazer.if i have not understood why you need a d88 -------starting up a printer museum, carnt help threw mine away after one season and loads of ink cartridges.

Walter swanston Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Had an EpsonD88 The have a limited life you are lucky to get 2 years out of them and they cost a fortune in ink, roughly have to re- supply ink after every race.A Brother laser printer is the answer.

dal2 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Walter are they DOS Compatible PL6 i have tried everywhere to no avail. Why does it need to be dos Andy? Are you unikon?
Walter swanston Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 We worked with an Epson stylus D88 until it gave up the ghost at the start of last season.I ran a results sustem and nine members with Unikon ETS off that printer but it was incredibly sore on ink and when I tried to use other than Epson ink it gave me all sorts of problems and as I have already stated it decided to pack in on us.I got advice and bought a Brother laser printer from Amazon which has both a parallel and a USB port .I have installed it into the club laptop and it seems to be working OK fingers crossed.
